An exhibition with a truly special theme, "The Triumph of Detritus" at 1310 Gallery, curated by Lisa Rockford, is featuring a group of artists that has pushed the limits through the collection of raw, found, and unexpected debris to create utter masterpieces. Such a feat is due to the combination of visceral materials and exquisite embellishment. Although it will be hard to pick favorites, up to ten artists will be selected for a total of at least $500 in cash prizes at the closing reception. With 31 artists represented, each visionary's work will leave a memorable impression. Since the 1310 Gallery is an artist-run collective that rotates exhibitions monthly, we are certain you will be back to see what Rockford conjures next. Celebrate the achievements of each artist at the closing reception on Friday, July 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., located at 1310 SW Second Court in Fort Lauderdale.
