Under the Boardwalk

Before tonight's special presentation of Jersey Boys, big Jersey rollers can front up $375 for an exclusive Jersey Boardwalk-themed cocktail party, complete with beach inspired food and beverages and a premium seat to the show. Space is limited - call 954-468-2691 for more info.

Admit it — “Big Girls Don’t Cry” flashed through your mind the last time you watched Jillian reduce a Biggest Loser contestant to tears. Then perhaps you hummed “Walk Like a Man” as another portly fellow hung his huge head for spending too little time on the treadmill. For those musical moments you can thank The Four Seasons, one of America’s most successful pop groups. Their tale is told in Jersey Boys, a musical about Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito, and Nick Massi, four blue-collar Italian-Americans from guess where. Laugh all you want at their slicked back hair, high-pitched crooning, and Joy-zee accents; these guys wrote their own hit songs and sold 175 million records worldwide before they turned thirty. Yeah, “Sherry,” even you can sing along Thursday through Sunday at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, at 201 SW Fifth Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Show times vary and tickets cost $25 and up. Call 954-462-0222, or visit browardcenter.org.
