Step into the kitchen of chef Giovanni Rocchio, owner of Valentino in Fort Lauderdale, and experience the best in Italian wine and cuisine with the restaurant's latest special event, wine-pairing dinners. Thursday, Valentino will host a special wine dinner featuring icons of Italian winemaking for aficionados celebrating the best of what Italy has to offer. Guest speakers will include Sebastiano Rosa from Agricola Punica and Giovanni Folonari of Folonari Estates. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception and signature passed appetizers. The main show begins at 7:30, a six-course dinner that offers specialty wines paired with roasted foie gras, diver scallops, a heritage Guinea hen agnolotti, braised lamb shank, and pork loin. A savory dessert will seal the deal with a special homemade Gorgonzola gelato with caramelized figs, pistachio sponge cake, and an aged balsamic drizzle. The Kobrand Winemaker dinner will take place on Thursday at Valentino, located at 620 S. Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $225 per person and are all-inclusive.
