Youll be hard-pressed to find a funkier, cozier hangout than DaDa Restaurant and Lounge (52 N. Swinton Ave., Delray Beach). For more than eight years, Dada has hosted South Florida talent ranging from spoken word artists to bands to comedians. It has also served as a late-night stop for tipsy foodies wanting to grub on popular items like grilled brie and crab cakes (They serve food until 2 a.m.!) or drink one, or three, of the crazy-delicious blackberry mojitos. Rockabilly trio Viva Le Vox, which frequently gigs at this hip hangout, will take the stage Friday. The groups music takes a voodoo cue, even if just a small one, from Screamin Jay Hawkins. Snarled vocals, swampy guitars, and dark rhythms make for an infectiously groovy time. Bluegrass punk duo Faux Town Fever will also play. Admission is free. Show starts at 10:30 p.m. Call 561-330-3232, or visit myspace.com/dadahouse.
