There’s a slow burning under your skin. It started as a small, manageable distraction and soon spread into a full-blown rash. It’s official: You’ve got Election Fever. The only known remedy for this disorder is complete surrender and submersion into all things Wonk.

Start your morning with a trip to the polls. If you forget, you don’t get to play with everyone else, because that little “I Voted” sticker is your badge to bargains! Flash it with pride at Tate’s Comics and gain both a 20 percent discount off any one item and the respect of your peer group. Find Tate’s at 4566 North University Drive in Lauderhill. Call 954-748-0181, or visit tatescomics.com. Next, take a needed vacation to Girl Land and visit Jezebel (1980 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale). Along with a 30 percent discount on any one, glorious item, Jezebel is peppering its aisles with giant sale sections (translation: holiday shopping!), all of which is off-limits unless you’re wearing your “I Voted” sticker.

Of course, the social scene gets revved up when the voting booths close; that’s when watch parties start. See the numbers trickle in for your candidate at Cinema Paradiso (503 SE Sixth St., Fort Lauderdale). The free shindig will begin at 7 p.m. and features election coverage from various television stations split among the main theater screen inside, televisions in the lobby, and a projector screen outside in Paradiso’s courtyard. Since no party, political or otherwise, is complete without gnoshing, Paradiso will feature food and drink specials all night. Call 954-525-FILM, or visit fliff.com.
