Wacky Jackie

So Jackie Mason’s in town for a string of performances at the Improv Paradise Live (5700 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Humor aside, it’ll be an interesting study in demographics. On one hand, you’ve got a Jewish comedy legend bringing his old-school humor to Broward County, home to many a transplanted New Yorker. But on Mason’s other hand is an outstretched middle finger aimed at President Obama — something that’ll attract an entirely different crowd, one more enthrall to Glenn Beck than Jon Stewart. Sociologically fascinating? Perhaps. Bust-a-gut funny? Eh, it’s doubtful. For a sneak peak, check out Mason at youtube.com/theultimatejew. And remember: Sarah Silverman, bad; Sarah Palin, good. Mason performs at 7 p.m. Thursday through Tuesday of this week. Tickets cost $47.70 with a two-drink minimum. Thursday’s show is for age 18 and up. After that, it’s 21 and up only.
