The trio the Wailers Band has been around, though not in its current formation, since 1974 and was Bob Marley’s back-up group until his death in 1981. It now, however, includes only one member that played with Marley: bassist Aston “Fams” Barrett.

The nine-member group the Original Wailers emerged in 2008. The band is likely named “original” because it includes two members who played with Marley: guitarists Junior Marvin and Al Anderson.

Sufficiently confused about the intricacies of reggae heritage? Come see The Wailers Band perform the entire legendary 1977 album Exodus, which includes such monster hits as “Jamming,” “One Love” and “Waiting in Vain.”

Doors open at 8 p.m. at the Culture Room (3045 North Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale). Tickets cost $25, and Wait for Green will open. Visit www.cultureroom.net.
