Walk for a Life

Help the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation reach its lofty goal of $100,000 this Sunday by participating in the Gift of Life's third-annual Walk for Life. Although all charity walks are special, this 5K walk/run is truly singular in that it is the only event in South Florida solely dedicated to raising awareness for bone-marrow and blood-stem-cell transplants. Every year, 10,000 patients are diagnosed with diseases that require a bone-marrow or stem-cell transplant; this foundation raises awareness of the worldwide bone-marrow registry that helps find donors. This event is much more than a walk too; fun for the entire family awaits. Face-painting, family-friendly DJs, and fantastic prizes such as Travelpro Luggage Sets, hair and nail gift certificates, and restaurant gift cards are all available. The Walk for Life begins at 9 a.m. Sunday at Florida Atlantic University, located at 777 Glades Road in Boca Raton. Advance registration is $25, five bucks more on the day of the event.
