Walk the Night

'Tis the season, and you know what that means -- a bunch of holiday-themed walks/runs/marathons/jumping-jack contests/pogo-stick hopping/etc. ad nauseam. We get it, middle-class America: We need to exercise. But all that waking up at 4 a.m. on a Saturday is really cramping our style. Finally, someone is breaking the mold with a race that speaks to the partygoer in all of us. Seriously, stop groaning, it's only a mile. Fourth-graders can do that shit. And the superbonus? It's at nighttime. Excuse us while we mark our calendars. Not only has this race already hit two home runs in our book but the organizers also suggest you show up in your favorite holiday attire. No matter how ugly your sweater is, bust it out and join the herd. Oh, and to top it all off, you get to watch the mad legit Coral Springs Holiday Parade immediately afterward. No whining, all winning with this doozy of a race. Finally, someone gets us. The Coral Springs Holiday Mile takes place Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. Starting line is at 10494 W. Sample Road in Coral Springs. Register at itzevents.com. Email [email protected]
