We Art Scream for Ice Cream

Thursday is a happening night in West Palm. The savvy downtowner has her fair share of tantalizing events to choose from, but the experienced WPB'er knows you can get a lot more than just one thing to do at the Norton Museum of Art's weekly Art After Dark. The Thursday-night über-event mashes all sorts of culture together, and this Thursday's is no different, with numerous components coming together to guarantee you a good time. The main attraction this week is the Songwriter's Showcase, featuring Savannah Maddison, Emily Brooke, and Maggie Baugh, but that's just the start. There will also be a documentary screening, exhibit tours, giveaways from WRMF, and, most important, a Blue Bell ice cream truck passing out free samples all night. Admission to the Norton (1451 S. Olive Ave., West Palm Beach) on Thursdays (including Art After Dark) is free through August for Florida residents. Non-Florida residents, normal rates apply: adults $12, students $5. Art After Dark is 5 to 9 p.m. Visit Norton.org, or call 561-832-5196.
