Though usually only children bother to mark half years, the charitable drinkers at the Young Professionals for Covenant House mark the halfway point to St. Patrick’s Day, the foremost of drinking holidays. That’s fitting for a group of 21- to 45-year-olds who drink to raise money for youths under 21. An admission fee of $20 ($15 if you prepay online) will not only get you a free drink at each participating bar and food at some but will also go to help the Covenant House Florida, an organization that serves runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth in its Fort Lauderdale and Orlando shelters.

“The Seminole Hard Rock Pub Crawl: Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day” will feature live bands, bagpipers, giveaways, and prizes for best green costumes. Participating bars include Murphy’s Law, Wet Willies, Tequila Ranch, KnightTime Billiards, 88 Keys, and Bluepoint Ocean Grill; an afterparty will be held at Pangaea. The drinking starts at 5:30 p.m., and the afterparty starts at 10 p.m. at Seminole Paradise (5804 Seminole Way, Hollywood). Call 954-568-7916, or visit youngpros.net.
