We're Jamming!

Remember when we were younger and wanted nothing more in the entire world than to sit for hours in the dirt and play racetrack with our Hot Wheels monster trucks? And then we wrapped the monster trucks up in teeny-tiny Band-Aids and took them to the makeshift truck hospital for treatment after they crashed? (No? Just me? OK!) Well, for some of us, the urge to keep on monster trucking never really goes away, even after we get our learning permits and the luster of the free and open road is shattered by rush-hour traffic and speeding tickets. See for yourselves as truck enthusiasts pile into the BB&T Center on Friday night for Monster Jam, a night of ridiculously big wheels, engines revving, and spinouts. There will be appearances by Grave Digger, driven by Gary Potter; Grave Digger the Legend, driven by Adam Anderson; Gunslinger, driven by Scott Hartsock; Madusa, Monster Mutt, driven by Whit Tarton; and Fullboar, driven by Ed Eckert. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. at 1 Panther Parkway, Sunrise. Call 954-835-7000, or visit monsterjam.com for more information. Tickets cost $17.65 to $30.30.
Fri., Aug. 15, 6:30 p.m., 2014
