Winos Rejoice

Here comes your one chance to guzzle wine on the street without looking like a crazy wino — tonight, Latin American wineries are taking over seven blocks of Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. They’re offering an unlimited amount of wine paired with a smorgasbord of food from local joints. Throw in jazz, art, and NFL Pro Bowl festivities and you’ve got all the ingredients for the inaugural Latin American Vinofest. Much of this evening’s wine can be credited to the conquistadors, who planted grapes from Europe. So, if you’re not acquainted with Latin American wines, tonight you can thoroughly educate your palette — and get publicly sloshed. Plus, the event is run by a nonprofit, so you’re getting sloshed for one good cause or another.

The Latin American Vinofest at Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach happens 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets cost $45 to $50. Call 561-272-6565, or visit thevinofest.com.
