What’s the one thing New York, Paris, and Milan have in common — other than being huge cultural centers and major metropolitan cities? They all celebrate the beauty and intrigue of one of the world’s most practical (sometimes) art forms: fashion. You may not have been aware, but our neck of the woods also boasts an entire week of clothing celebrations. It’s called Fashion Week Palm Beach. And it’s kicking into high gear on Saturday. The Third Annual Fusion Fashion & Art Week includes two weekends worth of clothes, models, and designer goods for industry professionals and members of the public. It starts with a Charity VIP Preview at the Palm Beach Zoo (101 Summit Blvd., West Palm Beach) on Saturday, November 22 from 8 to 10 p.m., with two shows, open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, and entertainment by Imperial Belly Dance. The kickoff party takes place Sunday at HMF at the Breakers Palm Beach (1 S. Country Road on the island) from 8 to 11:30 p.m. The runway shows take place next weekend at Lakefront Pavilion (101 S. Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach), starting on Friday, November 29 and running until Sunday, November 30; runway show times start at 1 p.m., during the day, followed by a live concert series by Hard Rock Energy from 5 to 7 p.m. Runway shows will commence nightly from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be a total of eight shows per day, with a Grand Finale on the last evening. Tickets start at around $25 per person. Visit fusionfashionandart.com.
