You Are getting Huuunnnngry

You have multiple reasons for going to tonight’s benefit for Pet Project. First and foremost, the cause is just plain good – the organization provides pet food and pet services to people with life-threatening or severely debilitating illnesses. Furthermore, you get a three-course meal at Bellissimo (1670 E. Oakland Park Blvd., Oakland Park) for just $20. And perhaps most compelling: you will hear guest speaker Eugene Steel describe how he can hypnotize you to “tune into the reality of your existence.”

Now, we’re not exactly sure what a hypnotist has to do with a pet non-profit, but we sure as hell are intrigued to hear that Mr. Steel helps people with normal problems like weight control and smoking cessation, not-so-normal-but-expected issues like tapping into past and future lives, and not-so-expected issues like sports performance and “pilot flight checks.”

Satisfy your curiosity (and hope that your pilot’s next hypnotic session lasts for the duration of the flight) starting with cocktails at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Call 954-483-9925, or visit
