Updating Postponements, Cancellations: Dorian Slows, Promises to Last

With Dorian's tropical-force winds expected to sweep in late Saturday, here is a developing list of postponements and cancellations for Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Below is a developing list of postponements and cancellations for Broward and Palm Beach counties, with rescheduled dates where relevant.

Broward County

The Rolling Stones have rescheduled Saturday's show at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens to Friday, August 30. Tickets for the original concert date will be honored at Friday's show.

The poolside concert featuring Nashville-based Rolling Stones tribute band Music City Stones has been moved to Hard Rock Cafe at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood at 9 p.m. The original concert was scheduled for 8 p.m. Admission to the show is free and open to the public. Space is limited.

The 2019 Broward Reggae Festival at Miramar Regional Park Amphitheater in Miramar has been postponed until Sunday, October 6. All current ticket holders will be granted entry with their original ticket(s) at the gate.

Spill The Beans Comedy Show in Fort Lauderdale has cancelled Saturday night's show featuring comedian Rudy Wilson. Those with tickets will receive refunds.

Broward County Landfill and three Residential Drop-off Centers for bulk, household hazardous waste and electronics will be open every day of the week (including weekends and holidays) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice. Locations include: North Residential Drop-off Center at 2780 N. Powerline Rd., Pompano Beach; Central Residential Drop-off Center at 5490 Reese Rd, Davie; and South Residential Drop-off Center at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd., West Park. The county landfill is located at 7101 SW 205th Ave. (US 27 and Sheridan Street).


Palm Beach County

Florida Atlantic University (FAU) announced cancellation of all classes after 12:30 p.m. Friday. Campuses will remain open for the remainder of Friday, but will be closed Saturday, August 31, through Monday, September 2. No word yet from FAU officials about whether classes will be held Tuesday, September 3. In addition, all events scheduled to take place on any FAU campus from 1 p.m., Saturday, August 31, through Monday are canceled.

In Jupiter, 1000 NORTH's Labor Day Party on Monday, September 2 is cancelled. Guests who made reservations will not be charged.
