Make no mistake — Paris Is Burning has nothing to do with 2005's widespread turbulence in France, the 1966 film about the last days of German occupation in the capital, or the 1990 documentary of New York's finest drag queens. This Paris burns in South Florida, and it's of the anthemic, loud, hard-rock variety that comes with plenty of guitars and a technically adept rhythm section. The vocals fit the bill too, and by the looks of it, these tough-looking dudes fit the ladies' bill as well — inferred from numerous "fan" pics circulating the web. This big showcase gig should line up more endorsements in their growing list (Halo custom guitars, Rotosound strings, and Medicine Man drums). Loud music, hot chicks, booze, and maybe a little gambling at the nearby Hard Rock Casino? That's a far cry from Eurotrash violence or tranny flicks. Sort of.

Paris Is Burning performs at 4 p.m. Sunday, January 22, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's Murphy's Law Irish Pub, 1 Seminole Way, Hollywood. This all-ages show costs $10. Call 954-791-4782.
