Kanye West may have delivered one of the biggest punches after Hurricane Katrina, but New Orleans rapper Juvenile took one of the biggest hits — his mansion was destroyed by the storm, forcing the former face of Cash Money Records to relocate to Atlanta. He expectedly took some shots at FEMA on this year's Reality Check, but the overall vibe of the disc really isn't all that far removed from the sexed-up, Dirty South, proto-crunk party that was 1998's 400 Degreez (which spawned Juvenile's most memorable anthem, "Back That Azz Up"). In fact, he reserves most of his vitriol not for the powers that be who ignored the Big Easy but for his former Cash Money compadres, whom he had a nasty falling out with a couple of years ago. To be honest, Juvenile's flow and verses come off pretty clumsy and lackluster on Reality Check, but his formidable mic skills on prior projects provide hope for a return to glory in the live setting.

Juvenile joins Lil Webbie on Thursday, November 23, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. The show starts at 11 p.m. Tickets cost $40. Call 954-588-3938.
