If you need any further proof that Europe has cornered the market on weird, shtick-pop detritus homage, Stereo Total ought to settle the issue. The duo, composed of French femme fatale Françoise Cactus and German übermensch Brenzel Göring, has existed on the fringe of art-pop trash acclaim for ten years. Imagine Brigitte Bardot playing moog in Andy Warhol's never-realized Yoko Ono tribute band and you're really not even close, but it's a fun exercise that ST would probably enjoy. Songs are in French, German, English, Japanese, and more electronic blooping than R2D2 on heavy laxatives. But don't worry. All you need to appreciate Stereo Total is faith in cross-cultural experimentation and a pear-shaped sense of humor. The band comes to Miami to celebrate the release of its sixth album, Do the Bambi, and to help Poplife celebrate its sixth anniversary. This show will fill your je ne sais quoi quotient for the rest of the month.

Stereo Total, along with Tribeca and Printed Circuit, play at 10 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at I/O, 30 NE 14th St., Miami. Tickets cost $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Call 305-358-8007.
