Straight Outta Cashville When rappers 50 Cent and Tony Yayo started piecing together their G-Unit family, they knew they´d need a Southern rapper to stay relevant in the streets. New York´s stranglehold on the rap world died nearly a decade ago, so enlisting Tennessee MC Young Buck to be a part of their short-lived dynasty was a smart move. Now that the whole, g-g-g-g-g-g G-UNIT malarkey isn´t half as popular as it used to be, it´s not surprising that it´s Young Buck, and not 50 or Lloyd Banks, who has the most street cred nationwide, especially below the Mason-Dixon Line. He´s the youngest member of the group and not the most gifted lyrically, but his trademark Nashville drawl and poignant raps have earned him a legion of fans, and his latest album, Buck the World, has already sold half a million records, and it came out just last month. Dude isn´t exactly Mr. Congeniality, and he tends to draw a thug crowd, so this performance won´t be for the faint-hearted. But as Trick Daddy constantly laments, ¨Thugs need love too,¨ so go out and support him.
