At Sports Rock Lounge, you get more than you'd expect from your neighborhood dive. Here, you get free pool, dirt-cheap alcohol, and animated conversation about topics ranging from the Second Amendment to women's role in society — though you won't exactly hear it put in those terms. You also get a sense of community. The bartenders call out to patrons by name. Congregations amass and dissemble, exchanging members but never losing their sense of camaraderie. And the jukebox churns out favorite after favorite, encouraging random sing-alongs just loud enough to muffle your nagging thoughts about work and bills and responsibility. Sports Rock Lounge is that place we visit to numb our brains with loud music, beer, and friends. It's that place that reminds us why we drink in the first place. Yeah, the free pool sounds awesome — and the digital dartboards, the punch machine, the shuffleboard, and even the stripper pole look like fun — but once you're in here, you realize talking shit with your boys over 75-cent drafts is really all the entertainment you need. Yes, I said 75 cents. That's during the first half of happy hour, which happens daily from 3 to 7 p.m. Part 2 nets you $1.50 domestics. Come in on a Tuesday and get a free shot of your choice. Wednesday is ladies night from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., which means women get twofers. On Thursdays, Jäger shots go for $3 and Bar Poker begins. Sports Rock is open for lunch at noon and stays open till 4 a.m. every day.
