Art Whatevuh

French for “new art,” art nouveau — drolly mispronounced by Ali G as “now-voo or now-voh or whatevuh” — was an art movement that aimed to make art a part of everyday life. So it’s apt that an art-events company by the same name would host an exhibition dedicated to sex and the human form. Nothing’s more everyday — or should be everyday — than a good romp.

Every third Wednesday of the month, Art Nouveau turns the hip, trendy downtown West Palm Beach nightspot the Lounge into an art gallery. The theme changes each time, and this month it’s “Exposed,” exploring the human form and its related activities through every medium of art imaginable. There will be live body painting, live painting, even live glass blowing, a sex confessions booth, and enough artists (22) displaying and selling their varied wares to field a football game. Artists featured include Kris Starry, Lori Pratico, Japanda, Tara Hauck, Georgette Pressler, Ravengirl, Heather’s Pleasures, and VulvaLoveLovely. The Brass Knuckle Bombshells will perform a burlesque show. And, as always, Jack will be in the back making sushi. “Exposed” starts at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lounge (517 Clematis St., West Palm Beach). Admission is free. Call 561-655-9747.
