If youre anything like the jaded throngs of movie-goers who flock to the latest Saw films, its almost impossible to pick out a costume, much less get scared by haunted houses or ghost tours this Halloween. You cant be blamed for your insensitivity to decapitated heads, peeled grape eyeballs, and buckets of fake blood, nor for your aversion to dressing like a slutty chambermaid so guys wearing dresses can hit on you all night. If you dont want to dress up or wander through dark fog-filled halls waiting for people to jump out behind you, theres an even scarier option: a night of professional comedy lampooning Halloween traditions. Scariest of all, betwixt the original sketches, improv scenes, and musical parodies, the performers of Night of the Shining Texas Chainsaw on Elm Street Part 6 will be asking for audience participation. The show begins tonight at 8, and again on Saturday, at The Atlantic Theater (6743 W. Indiantown Rd., Jupiter). Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at theatlantictheater.com, or by calling 561-575-4942.
Fri., Oct. 30, 8 p.m.; Sat., Oct. 31, 8 p.m., 2009
