In the land of iPods and iTunes, CDs are passe and eight tracks are prehistoric. But to music geeks, nothing can replace the rich sound quality of records - or the implication of elitism that a 10,000-piece-and-growing vinyl collection affords a person. In a format that will bring South Florida analog enthusiasts together monthly, the Fort Lauderdale arthouse Cinema Paradiso is hosting Record Swap Sunday, where you can bring those records that have been collecting dust (we all have a few) and sell or trade with someone who will relish them like you once did. Enjoy a screening of Iggy Pop: Lust for Life as well as performances by local punk bands No Class Action and Band No. 12. Tables will be available for anyone with a crate. And who knows: since the economy is in the dumps, you may find something like the white vinyl of Nirvana's album Bleach or the rare blue vinyl of Pink Floyd's Meddle for $20. (Dare to dream.)

Come dig through fellow music lovers' crates Sunday at Cinema Paradiso, located at 503 SE 6th St. in Fort Lauderdale. Admission and tables for setting up shop are free. Set up starts at 7 p.m., record swap at 8, and the movie at 9.
