Those letters form the basis for Vincent, a one-man play starring Dan DePaola as both Theo and Vincent Van Gogh taking place Friday and Saturday at the Atlantic Theater. The story, which begins in Paris just one week after Vincents death, was penned by Leonard Nimoy, better known as Spock in the original Star Trek series. Nimoy combed through each of the heartfelt letters in search of just what made Van Gogh tick. He certainly mustve found something his own performance of Vincent on Broadway earned the actor a Tony. Wed say DePaola has some big shoes to fill, but hes also had plenty of experience portraying the iconic painter: he starred as Van Gogh in two feature films, Full Moon Fables and State of the Artist.
Vincent starts at 8 p.m. at the Atlantic Theater, located at 6743 W. Indiantown Rd., #34 in Jupiter. Tickets cost $20. Get them at theatlantictheater.com, or by calling 561-575-4942.
