Your boss is still waiting for an answer regarding your attendance at tonight’s company holiday party. Being an amateur, you haven’t yet thought of an excuse (read: something better to do) to save your butt. So consider it a public service when we tell you about Respectable Street’s 21st Annual Holiday Party. Saturdays are pretty happening on a normal week at Respectable Street — from the always-crowded dance floor to the more laid-back patio area, there’s always something interesting going on. But this night will be extra fun, and it’s not just because there’s a giant Christmas tree inside the club and free admission. In addition to complimentary eggnog all night long (the fun kind, of course), there’ll be free gifts courtesy “Crusty Santa” and absolutely no lame holiday music. Forget “Joy to the World” — you’re more likely to hear Joy Division (or the Cure, the Clash, the Killers, or anything that runs the gamut of alternative music). There’s a reason Respectable Street is still around after 21 years, and Saturday’s party is just another example.

Respectable Street’s (518 Clematis Street, West Palm Beach) annual holiday party kicks off at 9 p.m., tonight. Call 561-832-9999, or visit respectablestreet.com.
