You’re all set for your romantic date night – you’ve got a bottle of half-way decent Sauvignon Blanc icing down and an Al Green record sitting standby on the turntable, and you’re warming up the fondue maker your grandmother gave you last Christmas. But then it hits you: Shit! You don’t know how to make fondue! Yes, you could just fudge it and follow the instructions in the manual, but last time you tried that with your deep fryer, you went without eyebrows for weeks. No, you’ve got to get up to fonduing speed, and fast! Chill out, Casanova. You just need some instruction, courtesy of Friday Food Networking.

The weekly food series teaches would-be cooks the basics, from baking heavenly cookies to whipping up knockout pasta. This week, the class is covering chocolate fondue, so you’ll learn firsthand how to fashion a batch that will have your date cooing in no time (and keep you both free from painful burns). It all starts at 11 a.m. Friday at the Veteran’s Park Recreation Center (802 NE First St., Delray Beach). Bring $5, or your own dippable ingredients like strawberries, marshmallows, or Graham crackers. Call 561-243-7350.
