The artists assembling for Y100’s Jingle Ball seem to have nothing in common. Failed American Idol Elliot Yamin, the nasally Plain White T’s, good-girl Brit Natasha Bedingfield, master of the universe Timbaland, baby-faced genre-bender Sean Kingston, Good Charlotte, some band called “Florida,” wimp-rockers One Republic — what’s the explanation? I mean, other than Y100’s desire to cram everybody in the state with even a passing interest in pop music under one roof (in this case, the roof of the BankAtlantic Center, 1 Panther Parkway, Sunrise).

Here’s a possibility: Timbaland recently produced a song for One Republic. One Republic’s lead singer, Ryan Tedder, was born in Oklahoma. Natasha Bedingfield, though English, looks kind of like she’s from Oklahoma. Bedingfield’s currently dating a real estate agent — and guess what? Florida is in the middle of a real estate crisis! And Sean Kingston’s from Miami! And American Idol often auditions in Miami! And Timbaland’s an American! Yes! Full circle! Still no reason for the Plain White T’s to be here, though — at the concert or anywhere else. But other than that, whatta party! It starts at 7 p.m., and you can go and try to make sense of it yourself with the purchase of tix ranging from $42.75 to $112.75. Visit www.y100.com to buy ‘em.
