Who says theres no sense of fashion left at casinos? While the sweatpants-clad, chain-smoking, slot-addicted regulars plug away in the gaming area of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, revelers attending the fashion show at the Hard Rocks fabulous interconnected clubs Pangaea and Gryphon will be sequestered in a dream world of breezy pastels and airy, lightweight fabrics. Ghost, an independent fashion house rooted in London, has developed a timeless take on femininity by blending fashions from different eras in unconventional ways. This Spring/Summer ´06 runway show uses styles from the 1920s (sheer fabrics, low-waist cuts, ridged Victorian waist cinchers) to create overall silhouettes that resemble 1960s paper dolls. Also included in the translucent collection are Ghosts signature line of whimsical wedding gowns and a new line of jersey jackets, dresses, slips, and basics. Ghosts founding designer/owner/creative director Tanya Sarne has spent the last 20 years exploring functional high fashion. Even though every celebrity seems to show up in Star magazines DO column in a Ghost original, the companys items are comfortable, machine-washable, and (relatively) affordable -- a paradox in a world of credit card-maxing, spine-aligning, wear-it-only-once fashion.
