Being a straight girl and getting turned on to the works of Bubba Clicks is kind of like… punishment. First, you go “Oh, Bubba Clicks! What a cute name!” Then, you hear that he’s a photographer – “How cool!” Then, you see the guys in his photographs – “Yum-tastic!” And then, just as you start falling deep into the valley of love, it dawns on you: they… might… not… like… girls.

Well, Bubba might not want to be our new boyfriend, but we’re going to keep on staring (and staring) at his juicy collection of hot men, mostly in their undies or at the beach, or in one case, fully nekkid, save for a strategically-placed fern leaf . Bubs uses warm, flattering light on beefy-caked, moderately-tattooed manly men – thereby creating an intriguing juxtaposition of vulnerability and strength. But don’t take our word for it – check out his stuff at tonight’s reception for his “Skin Deep” exhibit at the Gallery of the Unknown Artists (116 S. 20th Ave., Hollywood). The party starts at 7 p.m.; the works hang from April 4th through 15th. Call 954-921-5551.
April 4-15
