Following in your father's footsteps is probably the oldest career path known to man. And with the exception of political dynasties, thats typically a good thing. Hopefully you spent Father's Day reflecting on what you've inherited from your dad, be it the family business or just natural-born talent. Which brings us to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdales current exhibition, entitled Carnegie: Father and Son. Mike Carnegie has been a teacher at the AI since 1981, and his son Paul is a current student. Together, they have created a collection of fantasy illustrations, satirical caricatures, and cartoons. So if you forgot Fathers Day a week-and-a-half ago, make it up to pops now by trotting him down to the Wheeler Gallery (1799 SE 17th St., Fort Lauderdale) and doing some cross-generational bonding. The exhibit runs through August 31 and admission is free. Call 954-463-3000, or visit www.artinstitutes.edu.
