“Shaken, Not Stirred.”

It’s Martini Mondays at Gatsby’s (5970 S.W. 18th St., Boca Raton). Every week at 8 p.m., a voguish, cultured man searches through the three pages of specialty martinis, which today are all priced at five bucks. He’s the Gatsby Man, and he knows Monday Night Football is best watched with a cold, stiff martini. Buckets of beer are more conducive on Sundays, Gatsby Man says, when your drinking must span three football games. But on Mondays, it’s a simple three hours; let’s jazz it up a bit. The Gatsby Man orders his drink — whether it be a Las Vegas, Flamingo, or Starbust Martini — according to his mood. Today, the Gatsby Man requests a 007, and places himself in front of one of the seven huge-screen TVs. He has become a Gatsby’s fixture, just like the dark wood, the plush booths, the irregular-shaped mirrors, and the velvet pool tables. Gatsby Man doesn’t carry his own pool stick; he would play with a tree branch if need be. Each night ends in victory, whether his football team wins or not — and the Gatsby Man knows what sweet victory tastes like: a Godiva White Chocolate Martini. This offer is good from 8 p.m. until 3 a.m., at the Gatsby locations in Davie and Kendall as well. Call 561-393-3900, or visit gatsbysfl.com.
Mondays, 8 p.m. Starts: Nov. 23. Continues through Dec. 27, 2009
