I Like My Women Cheesecake

The female form with its hourglass silhouette has long been considered the peak of visual perfection — the curvier the form, the better — up until Kate Moss and her acolytes. Nowadays, the bountiful Botticelli ideal is known as the pinup girl or cheesecake. If you’d like to partake in a gluttonous slice of bodacious bods without being accused of being a sexist ogler, check out “CHEESECAKE!” a juried art exhibition presented by the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale (artinstitutes.edu/fort-lauderdale) and Galerie Jenner, located at 1310 SW Second Court, Loft 307, in Fort Lauderdale. The opening reception is from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday. Admission is free, all pieces are available for purchase, and the exhibit lasts till March 31. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays (but call ahead just to be sure). Contact Galerie Jenner by calling 954-609-7009 or visiting galeriejenner.com.
