There is no escaping the stuff of life — on the street, in your office, under your bed, up on the mountain: stuff, stuff, stuff. Are there even more than two choices? We either make ourselves at home in the stuff or we hide from the stuff that’s inside a big fort of other stuff, which causes the whole fort o’ stuff to collapse on us, leaving us as stinky, dead stuff.

Stuff happened to the infamous Collyer brothers of Harlem. If you’re not familiar with their legendary tale of fortune, übereccentricity, insanity, and demise, you ought to head to the Caldwell Theatre (7901 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton) Wednesday for the world premiere of Stuff. Even if you have heard the story before, it ought to be healthy to check out local playwright Michael McKeever’s fun, fresh comedic take on it — after all, laughing at stuff is often the best way to deal with it. The show runs through July 31. Showtimes are Wednesday through Sunday at 8 p.m. and Wednesday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $10 to $50. Call 561-241-7432, or visit caldwelltheatre.com.
Wednesdays-Sundays. Starts: July 6. Continues through July 31, 2011
