You don’t learn farm life growing up in South Florida. You just don’t. Where the hell are our livestock exhibits?! Agriculture just isn’t a popular culture here. Thank the soil, we have the South Florida Fair. Rabbit check-in is at noon Thursday. Poultry check-in is at noon Thursday. It kicks off Friday, January 13.

For 17 days, the fair will be all over the South Florida Fairgrounds area in West Palm Beach (9067 Southern Blvd., West Palm Beach). You’ll get things like the Extreme Canines Stunt Dog Show at the fairgrounds on Friday. Continuous Dairy Goat Shows will be held at the Agriplex at the fairgrounds on — well, those goats will start at 9 a.m. Friday and not stop till 10 p.m. Saturday. You’ll have weeks of opportunity to see the Americraft Cookware Show. The shebang ends January 29. Get tickets beforehand and it’s $10 for adults, $5 for kids. At the gate, it’ll be $15 and $8, respectively. Visit southfloridafair.com.
