Celebrate Digital Love Before It Goes Mainstream

We know hipster has become quite the pejorative these days, but we really can’t see why. Hipsters are intellectual, independent thinkers with good taste in music, movies, and books; a love for skinny jeans and scarves; and a propensity for riding one-speed bicycles. We don’t see anything wrong with any of that. Perhaps it’s the fact that independent thinkers don’t like to be labeled that started the whole kerfuffle. But hey, if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a hipster. And if you have ever been called a hipster — and resented it — than you’ll probably enjoy Digital Love Thursdays at the Green Room Nightclub (109 SW Second Ave., Fort Lauderdale). Of course, if you’ve never been called a hipster, then you’ve probably never heard of Digital Love (hipster joke). Well, Digital Love will be celebrating its One Year Anniversary Party on Thursday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be all the indie art, indie music, indie DJs, and $5 indie craft beers (and $2 PBRs) you can independently handle. Enjoy it while it lasts, though, because after this, it’s probably going to be way too mainstream (’nother hipster joke). Digital Love is strictly for those 21 and over. Admission is free. Visit greenroomlive.com, or call 954-449-1025.
