Know-It-Alls Earn Their Keep

Everyone has at least one know-it-all friend who is constantly correcting everyone or dispensing little factoids. “Actually, that’s the dolphin fish — or mahi-mahi — you’re eating, not Flipper.” If you don’t have one of these friends, sorry to inform you, but you probably are that annoying person. Never fear: There is a way for you to redeem yourself — or to benefit from the know-it-all — and it’s called Trivia Night. This Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wave (2700 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton) local karaoke king and general good-time maker Frank-E-Oke hosts a live trivia night. Twenty questions are asked over four rounds. After each question, a three-minute song is played, giving you time to come up with and submit your answer. Prizes are given out to winners only, but happy-hour drink specials are available to everyone. Categories include sports, music, movies, history, science and useless truth. The questions get more challenging as the night goes on, partly by design and partly because of those happy-hour drink specials. For now, trivia Tuesday is scheduled only for March, but if it’s a big hit, it might just become an ongoing weekly event. Call the Wave at 561-361-2700, visit wave2700.com, or check out the event page on Facebook.
