There isn’t much you can’t find or do in South Florida. Sure, it’s hot as hell nine months out of the year and you have to put up with snowbirds and tourists during the pleasant three months. But in exchange for being a vacation mecca, we have every amenity, facility, event, and leisure activity a person could possibly want. We even have our very own film festivals, and tonight marks the beginning of the weeklong Palm Beach International Film Festival with an opening film and reception. For $60, you will gain admission to the film Robot & Frank, playing at the Muvico Parisian 20 at CityPlace (545 Hibiscus St., West Palm Beach) at 7:30 p.m. as well as the afterparty on the rooftop of Two City Plaza (701 S. Olive Ave., West Palm Beach) at 9 p.m. Walk the red carpet. Schmooze with actors, filmmakers, and other industry professionals. Rub elbows with the cream of West Palm Beach society while sipping your two complimentary drinks and discussing the nuances of the evening’s cinematic offering. This afterparty is strictly for those 21 and over. Festival passes are also available, ranging from $150 to $500, if you would like to experience the 17th-annual festival in its entirety.
