There's no rule that says you cannot drink wine any way you like. The oenologic police will not show up at your door on a Tuesday evening and arrest you for drinking cheap red from a Mason jar. Wine should be approachable and enjoyable, not intimidating, and after an evening with world-renowned sommelier Charlie Arturaola, you will feel intimidated no longer. The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale and Nova Southeastern University are hosting Arturaola as part of their "Art of Wine and Food Series." Arturaola will take part in a question-and-answer session with resident wine educator Stephanie Miskew after a screening of the independent film El Camino del Vino.
Learn about where wine comes from, how it is made, and what the hell a bouquet is from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday. The museum is located at 1 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Admission is $50, and reservations are required. Call 954-262-0249, email [email protected], or visit moafl.org.
