A Vice For All Ages

The cocoa bean may be the most universally accepted vice. Tell a friend you're powerless in the face of chocolate and she won't try to stage an intervention. Hell, she'll probably want to join you in fueling the addiction at Saturday's Festival of Chocolate. The two-day event includes a vendor showcase (read: lots of food), demonstrations, chocolate and wine pairings, hands-on classes, kids' activities, contests, games, and a "cocoa couture" fashion show. The Festival of Chocolate is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in the arena at the Don Taft University Center at Nova Southeastern University, located at 3301 College Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. Advance tickets cost $12 for adults and $8 for kids ages 2 to 12. Tickets purchased at the gate are an extra $1 each. Call 407-429-7784, or visit nova.festivalofchocolate.com.
