Most of the year the idea of putting on a hideous, monstrosity of a sweater wouldn't be appealing -- and not just because of the sweltering temps and suffocating humidity. If you're even seminormal (whatever that means), the idea of slipping on a knit top with blinking lights and/or pompoms and/or doll limbs dangling from it probably isn't on the top of your list. But if you head to Mickey Byrne's Irish Pub (1921 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood), you might find that atrocious winter wear has a charm all its own. Join your fellow fashion victims 8 p.m. Thursday for Mickey Byrne's annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Party. There will be an open bar and live music. Finally, the lucky person wearing the most visually offensive Christmas sweater of the evening will win a prize.
