To draw attention to redevelopment efforts on the waterfront scene off East Atlantic Boulevard, the Pompano Beach Redevelopment Agency and the Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce will host a grand-opening celebration for the city’s newest beachside restaurant, known as the Beach Grille. Located in a newly renovated building just 100 yards from the city’s public beach, the Beach Grille is one of several establishments — including Briny Irish Pub, a sushi restaurant, and an ice cream shop — taking advantage of larger sidewalks and an extended patio area that makes for café-style outdoor seating with oceanfront views.
The two-hour grand-opening party will include an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:45 p.m., after which free food and drink will be available for attendees. Stop by and sample the Beach Grille’s boardwalk-style menu items, like funnel fries (fried funnel cake in the shape of French fries) and Philly-style cheese-steak sandwiches. Afterward, enjoy a free concert on the beach. The grand opening will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the restaurant, located at 3414 E. Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano Beach. Entry to the event is free, as is light food and drink. Call 954-786-7824 to RSVP.
