Comedy in Boca is kind of a joke. The only place to see standup was the New York Comedy Club, and that was just moved to the Deerfield Country Club (peeling walls and slight musk included). Enter the Sick Puppies Comedy improv troupe, here to fill the comedic void. The Sick Puppies put on a show once a month, and for Valentine's Day, they are presenting "Sleepless in Boca: An Improvisational Love Story" using their improv skills to let the audience direct the story, making this a truly unique performance. Along with hilarity, there will be live music and a cash bar. Tickets cost $30 for a couple and $20 for a single (because discriminating against single people is as much of a Valentine's Day tradition as blowing romantic smoke up your partner's ass).
"Sleepless in Boca" can be seen at Royal Palm Plaza at Showtime Boca, 503 SE Mizner Blvd., Ste. 73, in Boca Raton, at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Visit sickpuppiescomedy.wordpress.com, or call 561-573-2955.
