Us versus them: It's the story of the South Florida art scene, with Miami against, well, basically everyone else. Wynwood-based Locust Projects is seeking to bridge that gap this weekend with a special field trip north of the Miami-Dade County line. The Miami art institution has organized a Palm Beach County tour that will include a stop at the home of Beth Rudin Dewoody to look at the contemporary art collection of gallerist Sarah Gavlak. The procession will pause for lunch at Café 1451 in the Norton Museum of Art (1451 S. Olive Ave. in West Palm Beach) before launching into a private tour of museum exhibitions led by the curator of contemporary art, Cheryl Brutvan. The day concludes with a look at Gavlak Gallery (249B Worth Ave. in Palm Beach). For Miamians, the shuttle for "Locust Projects in Palm Beach" departs at 9 a.m. Saturday from Locust Projects (3852 N. Miami Ave. in Miami). The cost for transportation and lunch is $60 for Locust Project members and $75 for nonmembers. The price without transport is $25 and $35. Reservations are requested.
