She smoked. She drank. She partied. She cursed. She was a Hollywood star whose antics made others gasp. No, I'm not talking about the celebrities you've been reading about in the headlines. This Broadway bad girl was Tallulah Bankhead. And thanks to her, Matthew Lombardo was able to create the outrageous comedy Looped, now playing at the Parker Playhouse, located in Holiday Park, at 707 NE Eighth St. in Fort Lauderdale. The play, set in a sound studio in 1965, is based on a true story when an inebriated Bankhead, played by Stefanie Powers, stumbled into a sound studio attempting to re-record (or "loop") one line of dialogue for her last movie, Die, Die, My Darling. What follows is a hilarious showdown between Bankhead, who can't get the line right, and an uptight film director. Showtimes are Tuesday through Friday, March 1, at 8 p.m.; Saturday, March 2, at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday, March 3, at 1 and 7 p.m. Ticket prices are $28, $46.50, and $66.50.
