You might never have heard of comedian Sean Patton, but one thing is for sure: Make it to his show Saturday night and you'll never forget this New Orleans' native's free-association style of comedy. Patton's routines are outside-the-box funny; he keeps audiences on their toes with gags that come out of nowhere. That is what free-association comedy is all about, like sucker punches full of laughs. The audience is pretty much blindsided by Patton's array of jokes -- when the next bit will climax, nobody knows. It adds a bit of magical marvel to comedy. You will have to see the show to "get it," but rest assured you won't leave disappointed. Patton is one of comedy's rising stars, after all, his pudgy figure and maniacal stage presence drawing comparisons to Jim Belushi. And with appearances on Conan, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, and Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, Patton's carved out a nifty resume so far. This night of bushwhack laughs happens Saturday at the Fort Lauderdale Improv, located at 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood, with two performances, at 7 and 9:45 p.m. Ticket prices are $15 to $17 with a two-drink minimum. Visit ftl.improv.com, or call 954-981-5653.
Sat., April 13, 7 & 9:45 p.m., 2013
