How does a museum dedicated to children celebrate its annual gala? By taking a cue from its target demographic and making as much loud, banging noise as possible. The Young at Art Museum Gala will feature dancing, a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and, oh yeah, a performance by cast members of Stomp. If you haven’t heard of Stomp, you haven’t been listening. It’s a group of highly acclaimed musicians and performers who base their show entirely off rhythms, creating a street symphony with instruments made of things that no one would think could be musical, such as sneakers, lighters, chairs, and other unique items. The second annual Young at Art Museum Gala takes place this Friday from 7:30 to 11 p.m. The museum is located at 751 SW 121st Ave. in Davie, and tickets start at $250. Call 954-424-0085 or visit youngatartmuseum.org.
