Want to learn about beer but feel it’s too much to just jump in headfirst? Do trips to Total Wine make your head spin? Don’t despair; Riverside Market in Fort Lauderdale has you covered with an introductory six-week beer academy hosted by top area craft-beer aficionados, including Eric Guererro from Angry Union Brewing; Adam Fine, president of Native Brewing Co.; and Brett Hubbard, host of By the Glass podcast and radio show. The trio will take you on a journey through the basics of beer as a whole, nights focusing on specific styles, and even how to make your own beer. The goal is to have you become an educated beer consumer and have fun doing it. Classes start Tuesday at 7 p.m. and will last an hour each session. The cost is $125 per person for the entire stretch of the academy, and that includes beer-tasting and food-eating. Riverside Market is located at 608 SW 12th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.
