If you’re a wine drinker, hopefully you can tell the difference between red and white. If not, there’s probably no helping you. For anyone in the middle of that equation, Virginia Philip Wine Shop and Academy is instructing a class that will teach students how to taste wines like a pro. On Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Virginia Philip will guide participants through the process of four blind tastings by evaluating climates of wine regions, alcohol content, acid level, and different flavor profiles. She will use the techniques taught to candidates undergoing the Court of Master Sommelier exams. The cost to attend is $40. Virginia Philip Wine Shop and Academy is located at 101 N. Clematis St., Ste. 150, in West Palm Beach. Call 561-721-6000, or visit virginiaphilipwineshopacademy.com.
