The soulful indie rockers of Old You -- South Carolina's fave fusion rock/blues band -- will entrance audiences with their original sound as they make their South Florida debut at the ArtsPark in Hollywood this Saturday. Who better to open for Old You than Hollywood's own band Beach Day, which combines '60s girl-group and surf-punk elements. Known as a cross between the Ronettes, the Venture, and the Black Lips, Beach Day will set the precedent for the main concert of the evening, which promises to showcase a mixture of jazz, funk, soul, acid rock, and blues.
Guests can bring blankets, lawn chairs, and picnic baskets while they enjoy the concert. Not only is the amphitheater home to this amazing show, but you can also enjoy the rest of the acres-long surrounding property, which includes an art gallery, restaurants, a high-end playground for children (if you choose to bring your kids), and a new Cinema Paradiso art-house movie theater. If you want to keep the party going after the concert, nearby bars and nightclubs are open until 4 a.m. Not your style? If you want to participate in something less festive and more tranquil, live glass blowing and art classes will take place in the Visual Arts Pavilion during the concert.
